Oilers trade for Casinelli and Paiement

The Oilers have acquired Canadian defender Shawn Paiement and Italian forward Marco Casinelli from the Vegreville vipers in exchange for Jerzy Gus.

The 2005 born native of Turin, Italy, Casinelli comes to Vernal after recording 18 points and 50 PIM in his first 20 games of North American hockey. Paiement is a 6'4", 2004 born native of Quebec, and comes to Vernal after recording 1 point and 2 PIM in 15 games with Vegreville.

We are excited to have both players and look forward to their debut tonight vs. Edmonton.

Departing Vernal in the trade is captain Jerzy Gus. The first captain in Oilers history, Jerzy will always be part of the Oilers family and we hope to cross paths with him again soon.
